the helpful and informative posts. -And, no, it's not like there aren't other affordable options at 600v, and I do have some Clarity caps coming in that uf range and voltage.I just wondered if the K40's I already have on hand might be tried for comparison.
BUT... that said, I don't really want to toast an otherwise perfectly serviceable device in the service of advancing my learning curve....
