With that reasoning I guess the vast catalog of music recorded since the mid 1960s is off limits since it isn't "pure". In all things religious and audio I am agnostic. To me "Hybrid" is not a dirty word. My goal is to build great sounding equipment, not to meet someones ideal of "purity".
As to current sources being in the signal path, that depends on your definition of "signal path". If any significant amount of signal current is passing through CCS then it's a pretty piss poor current source.
