I replaced a cascode MOSFET (IXYS 8N50D2/1N100D1) under a 6SN7 diff. pair with a Morgan Jones style BC549C cascode with a couple of twists added and was taken aback by the improvement in sound quality. I was not expecting that noticeable of an improvement. The 334 may be simple and not require much voltage headroom, but you are leaving a lot of sonics "on the table" by using it. The BJT cascode has a dynamic impedance approaching 100M depending on the hfe of the transistors used.
