Tom,

The fuse might not even see additional current...if the chassis and B+ come together without a SAFETY / Equipment ground. (third prong) they are at the same potential...you just have a hot chassis with no way to ground until you provide it by getting between B+ and ground (touching it)..This scenario is also confusing because you measure 0 voltage to ground while you amp sits at B+.....

I have done this and the chassis just sits there waiting to bite someone...I was lucky.
