If it was me, I'd use a choke input supply with the first transformer and use HEXFREDs instead of tubes, or if you must use tubes go with a hybrid bridge (2x6CJ5s & 2xHEXFREDs). From experience (I had a device fail short in a 530V supply even though the device had a 1200V rating) I would use 2 pairs of HEXFREDs in series with voltage equalizing resistors (1M). They can be mounted back to back with a mica spacer and nylon hardware (see photo).
