"Flywheel" question

To anyone who knows, is it the purpose of the "flywheel" design - 0.032H and 10uF input - only to outperform the traditional large inductance PS filter? Or is it also intended to produce better performance than a traditional CLC design? I'm asking this question because my simulation of the flywheel doesn't seem to reveal any unusual behavior. It performs almost exactly like a standard CLC filter using those same values. The final output voltage may be *slightly* higher (about 0.5%), but the filter otherwise does what I would have expected for CLC. I'm using 0.032H @ 1 Ohm - 10uF - 2H @ 25 Ohm - 50 uF. Are these values representative, and has anyone else here put this into SPICE?
