RE: Swapping parts? Learning?

So swapping say a capacitor based on internet reports of sonic nirvana is a learning experience? Well I guess it could be if you spent a lot of money on those audiophile parts.
Some folks do and I have no problem with that. Hey that's their gig not mine.
I will re-design the circuit and pick the parts I 'think' will do the job. Caps are the last tuning stage. Then bench testing and listening.
However, some don't have the physical tools, circuit prowess nor the desire needed to go further. Many come here only to leave with a bad taste of TDIY.

How about first looking up what a capacitor really is, why it's there, how it works.
Most of us here already know that.

Then ask in what way is the new capacitor superior including if the superior attribute really has any bearing on the circuit design in question.
It comes down to a synergy within the circuit moreover than the attributes IMHE of course. This process can require re-thinking the entire circuit.
Using the right parts does NOT mean the best or most expensive.
However, some don't see it that way and are 'shunned'. That's just not right.
