Another "iron guy" Kevin Carter the U.S. Lundahl distributor has found a way to eliminate the large value series resistor in a RC RIAA implementation. By adding a CCS plate load to a hybrid FET/tube cascode the series resistor can be connected shunt (from the plate to ground). Kind of like a parallel feed arrangement without a parafeed cap. Makes a big difference in the dynamic presentation.
