With the use of the local cathode feedback, the Pentode linearity is improved along with dampening. To what extent the feedback works to get you to "HiFI" , is a function of the system . Provided the amp does everything else well, the elevated distortion levels might work OK with the system. I have employed a similar scheme with an improved G2 source and have heard some good results when the amp is not pushed with inefficient speakers..the sound stage and low response is very sweet.
