I can give up a run down of my experience.
We're looking for solid voltage.
Short of a full-blown regulation circuit (I haven't tried yet),I have had good results using a basic voltage divider which could be described as a shunt regulator, putting about 20 mA or so to ground. This acts as a decouple. Very simple and benign using passive devices...resister quality probably has some play...
Experiment...I have had the same wonders concerning G2...
