Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

I know....

I know, I was just busting AND bringing this topic up, hoping to finally put it to rest... :-)

This bypassed fuse crap was started by the good (bad) Dr.
No surprise.

I've seen small circuit breakers (used in electronics) smoke and still pass current.

Also seen breakers never blow from a pulse discharge due to a very local lightning strike but fried everything else in the house including the computer in the car.

I recently changed out a couple of old Square D breakers that went up in smoke after a lighting strike. They did their job as no damage occurred.
I'm curious if Square D's Homeline would stand up?

...Can these devices be trusted all the time - nope. But, they're necessary. I'll take a fuse over a breaker any day.

Cheers,
W
