Mike,

I have a couple of DACs from China. Both non oversampling. Basically, these cats put 8 vintage DAC chips in parallel. In both cases, the providers were active in forums and listened to feedback from buyers and improved the product particularly from a component stand point.

I'm happy with the results for now...considering the complexity of the assessment. All of the other units are of my design and build.

Like the analog world you can spend as much as you have to get what satisfies you tastes as they evolve.

I imagine DAC DIY will continue to catch on...there are definitely a few out there...

Never a dull moment..let us know how that puppy sounds.
