RE: My Bad. I was thinking of some other part but its between the cathode and the grid.

That's kind of what I was thinking too.

However, if it was using a DC supply with CCS output connected to the cathode of the tube, the extra (fixed) current would have that resistor value at some lower value for the same bias voltage. The CCS would also isolate the DC supply from the AC signal at the cathode.

Just a guess..
