You can easily compare the sound with unbypassed cathode resistors. Which sounds better?
To compare bypassed cathode resistors, look at a SE 2A3 run at standard op points:
Listen to your setup with separate 750 ohm 12 Watt Mills resistors bypassed by a pair of 330 uf Solens, which are additionally bypassed by a 30 uf ASC oil cap.
Now, wire the cathode resistors together, and bypass them with a single 330/30 uf setup.
Which sounds better?
