I have a real love for a nicely tamed Pentode. Attached is a pic of my latest prototype....CFSE34...

I'm loading two halves of 6SN7 with CCS per channel. The screen grids fed by a basic voltage divider with a shunt reg (resister). The output transformers are LL1664 gapped for 100mA.PIO & Teflon coupling caps. The outputs are in a Cathode follower relying totally on the CCS loaded 6SN7 cascade for gain.I'm pleased with the results.

I'ts a lot easier to get a great sound from a Triode generally speaking. The Pentode Tetrode has quality, when done right, that satisfies...
