BC395 ?

The question is - did Motorola EVER make that, as many of the B-series
transistors are Toshiba/Sanken part numbers. Also, those metal cap
transistors tend to be for RF applications...

The first thing I'd do is build a paper-schematic by tracing all the
connections to parts. Post that. It may be that whatever caused the
death of this amp was simply the wrong parts in the wrong design.

Next issue is I'm not sure those are driver transistors.. Those are
normally mounted on the same heatsink as the output parts.. Why? To
thermally track the output stage so the two push-pull systems are
thermally compensated for each other... That might be "another problem". :)
