RE: 417a Grid stopper primer needed!

Hey Iczerman,

I use the 417a/5842 to drive my 50s. These hot rods have (4) grid connections that all need Grid stoppers to help prevent Oscillations which if memory doesn't fail me, was what this valve was designed for. There's some real tube heads out there can elaborate.

As far as driver, if you have a gain section in front of a 2 stage amp, you have some options. If you're looking at a two stage amp with a pot, the 417a /5842 is hard to beat...high transconductance, low Rp, medium gain. What's not to like ;> 0
