RE: DHT as phase splitter

Never tried it...don't see why you couldn't. I think it would be more of a novelity because of all of the practical reasons one wouldn't use a DHT for such duty...I did however see 2a3s being used for rectification in a Chinese amp. I have used transformers with great results and you don't have to worry about an active device aging on you. Obviously the price tag for iron can make you consider using a valve.
