Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

RE: Well, if it's any consolation...

Hi Kurt,

I remember your 27 linestage and built one the same, must have been I dont know how many years ago, that was my introduction to DIY and it blew me away. So, I never forget.

Would like to ask what the most overall satisfying amp you built to supplement 100+dB efficient horn loaded drivers was.. I seem to remember you moving on from the PP845 to tubes like 71A and 45 in SE then to PP45 and again back to SE with the same tubes. Was it 101D,01A or 112A as the driver and did you ever try shunting the filament current through the bias resistor to remove need for bypass capacitance?

Regards,
Shane
