RE: Bendix 5Y3WGTA or 6106

Jim,

I have had Bendix both labeled 6106 and 5Y3WTGA. Both had same internal plate structure. Both BP with a tan/brown base. Anyhow, I only have a 6106 in a unit, at the moment (Fender Champ SET amp) and the B+ is a bit higher (385 VDC) than stock (350-360 VDC).

The gain stage tube seems to handle the extra VDC ok & the power tube is cathode-biased 6V6GT. The amp has quite a nice tone. Bass seems better than stock GE 5Y3GT that came with the amp.

Does your 6106 put out the same PIV as the stock 5Y3GT's?

thanks
