...good to know. I'm a total newbie, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but a 5V4 is a direct replacement rectifier for a 5y3, yes? I can just plug and play? The 20-30 second delay you mentioned is advantageous in prolonging tube/tranny life?
Any books you could suggest that explains all the (audio) tube types, their substitutions, and pin grid arrays?
