RE: Schematics for 01A,26,27,56,76 aso transformer preamp

I just finished breadboading this one on an old instrument chassis, and then as the author recommends, built the power supply on seperate chassis to prevent EMI/RFI interference. As the recommended UTC HA-133 transformers are both difficult to find as well as very pricey when you do, I opted for a pair of new Hashimoto preamp outputs which I am very pleased with. Be forwarned however, that these old triodes can be quite microphonic, so try to screen out a "quiet" pair for preamp use. Besides the #26 tube, I've also tried the #30 and #31 tube (2volt filament) as well, with good results. I'm going to give the 01A a try next week, and the 112A (5 volt filament) after that. I've been using 2 volt SLA batteries for the filaments, which really seems to lower the "noise" floor. Good luck and happy building, regards, wpod
