Mike- just yesterday (Monday),I bought (Craigslist) an MC225 (7591 tubes) and an MX110 (all original tubes including the Telefunkens) from the original owner, for a price that was too good to pass up. The MC225 certainly wouldn't be high on my list if I were actually "looking" to purchase a Mac, but as previously stated, the $800.00 price for the pair was just too good, not to buy them.They both are currently cooking slowly on my variac, but soon will be ready for a test run. Can you give me a few pointers as to what I should replace first? There seemed to be quite a few brown .22uf caps on the board that look like mylar but I'm quite sure that they are paper electrolytics (polarized).Also, have you done a comparison between the 600 volt and 1000 volt Russian caps of the same value?
