They are only rated for 500V.The KiloVac vacuum relays are designed to switch HV under load...
Reason being that they are solenoid actuated, so the commutation
time is very short. Further, the contacts are further apart and designed to extinguish any arc that forms.I'd use the Amperite to switch center tap and ground... I'd not use it to switch B+ directly. I doubt they'd handle the impulsive HV
from the secondary going open.You can get the KiloVac stuff from Ham Radio people - or the Ham
Radio supply sites (i.e. surplussales.com)
