A perfect use the Edcor WSM 600:10K or 150:10K

You should be able to drive 6V6-triode strapped directly from an
Edcor matching transformer. In either case, you will need a preamp with some serious drive - output impedance < < 600 ohms.

The 600:10K gives you a 1:4 step while the 150:10K gives an 1:8 stepup. Given that a 6V6 only needs about 25V of swing, these transformers will do the job. Although the 150/10K will phase split and give you 8:1 stepup, you will REALLY need a preamp with all of its s**t together to drive it. I'd go for the 600/10K model.

Two things can go wrong with the preamp.... If the preamps output impedance is too high, you will lose the bass. If the preamp doesnt have the power to slew the capacitance of the transformer, you will lose your HF. As a point of reference, a 6DJ8 cathode follower will successfully drive the Edcor. However, a plate coupled 12AU7 definitely wont do it.

Should also work for 6AQ5 and EL84. If you are driving anything bigger, let the Edcor phase split and then feed the split phase signal into the grids of a long-tailed pair.
