couldnt you choke load and use a seperate negative B supply for the input tube, have the plate voltage of the input stage near enough 0V (0V - DCR.Ip) direct to driver grid.would keep both the plate voltage and impedance at the fil return of the driver at RC style values. filbias would have <120 ohms for, say, Vg-40V, 20mA Ip, 250mA If driver. No bypass caps, no coupling caps, full gain. If the input stage goes down, the driver remains solid.
Only issue then is the negative voltage at the input tube grid..
