TV dampers and regulated supplies.

Lynn

Since I'm the bloke who wrote the post titled "If you can hear your rectifiers your power supply is inadequate" I guess I've nailed my colours to the mast, but hopefully I'm not too old to learn.

You have extolled the virtues of TV damper diodes several times now, and I remember you writing a couple of pieces encouraging the use of regulated supplies especially for SE.

Which do you think is more important?. I currently favour (pun intended) current source / shunt reg on choke input supply with SS rectifiers. Do your comments on diode switching noise apply to cap inputs or have you observed this on choke inputs as well?.
