Advise needed in wiring 6AR6 in place of 6550

Greetings-I wanted to try a pair of 6AR6 in a 6550 experimenter's amp that I've been playing with. Firstly, would the 6AR6 require the same size(1K) grid stoppers and does pin #1(cathode,grid#3)get grounded just like pin#8 does on the 6550? Besides not exceeding the 300 volt grid#2 voltage, is there anything else that needs special treatment with the 6aR6? Thanks, wpod
