It definitely does

I use the LL1660 in standard coupling: B+ --> LL1660 --> 396A
this way the LL1660 also works as a choke for the 396a tubes.
I'll try the high impendance load which is easy to try out and maybe also the parafeed like you did but that asks for more work.
I also use fixed bias, the secondaries of the LL1660 are not connected to ground but both secondary windings are connected to a seperate negative power supply which I can adjust with a potmeter, so it's easy to get perfect balance.
I'll post my results as soon as my amps are finished.
