Thanks Paul! Preserving tube life is a hot topic for me especially since NOS tube prices are skyrocketing these days! I read somewhere that 45s were occasionally used as a 3 amp fuse in the old days. Man that hurts!

The repost said,
"There is a very good reason for leaving tubes lit as the current inrush in poorly designed filament circuits....." What is meant by a poorly designed filament circuit? I normally use 2 switches, one that just zaps the filaments with AC or DC on startup and one for the B+ once the filaments are up to temp.
