This is not too different from my own 6V6 SE amp. You might also want to try a pair of EF86 pentodes in the front end. I compared a 12AX7 front end to those during the design phase, and the pentodes easily won the day. The distortion numbers you're seeing are very high. Something doesn't seem right.
