Don't hold your breath - it may be a while yet.Congratulations on what you have done so far - I would have expected that making the driver differential would improve it - and it did..
The only suggestion I would make now, other than Sector 7's good suggestion of using cascoded CCS's, is that going to DHT output tubes may well be worth the effort - as I expect a 2A3 differential will sound wonderful!
My (now in) production (as finished products AND kits) 300B differential amps sound very much better than the identical KT88 version - so much so that we are not going to bother producing the indirectly heated one. We will be making a high power (100 watts) diff amp for the low efficiency speaker crowd with a completely different circuit and tubes.
