Hey-Hey!!!,
Not to keep beating on this, but the single DN2540 does not sound as good as cascode-ing two. I use them under a 6SN7 in same service as your 12AU7. I put one together, then put the second MOSFET in( the second is easy, once there is one in already).
A single battery makes the R-set sizing a bit easier. more voltage means the resistance must be large, and less sensitive to small variations.
