Dear Anthony,Quite correct, the fact that Kondo-san does not use driver, input or interface transformers absolutely does not disqualify them.
I do not think there is anywhere in an audio circuit, where a good transformer, or wound component should I perhaps say, does not yield a serious improvement if properly designed and implemented.
Transformers rule as far as I am concerned and always will, they are Nature's only perfect compromise as far as impedance matching is concerned.
