I've managed to partly answer this myself. Using the mu follower output completely changes the nature of the beast. We go from a shunt regulator, isolated from the ps to a pass regulator without the benefit of an ac path to ground. Depending on purpose this MAY still be a better way to go. Any further thoughts?
