Gary's CCS VR Reg scheme as a reg

This is probably best addressed to Gary, but other's probably have experience here too. Its kind of a well duh to me, but maybe I'm missing something. I realize Gary's intention is to use the reg as an isolation mechanism, but I have implemented it numerous times as a simple regulator, replace the series resistor with a ccs, easy enough. Thinking on regulators today it occurs to me I may have been doing it wrong. Wouldn't it be better to pull the regulated voltage off the mu-follower output? This would isolate the load from the vr tubes, eliminating those pesky times when something goes a foul and the vr tubes won't ignite. Quite unnerving when those buggers oscillate. This shifts the load/ps isolation in a bad direction, but perhaps this could be made up some with the pentode option. Sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find it in the archives.
