Hi Tweakydee
Beware that PSUD shows 300 Volts of ripple on C1. This is common when using a small cap to "adjust" the PS final voltage.
I once played with a similar quasi-choke-input PS and fortunately I found out that C1 ( a 1kV oil cap) was sizzling hot. I replaced it before it had a chance to explode.
For peace of mind, use a low loss high voltage C1 rated for high AC ripple. A 1 KV to 2 KV motor run cap would be my first choice.
Also monitor its temperature for the first few hours, because the slightetst amount of leakage will make the cap run very hot.
