RE: the 12AT7 will be lower distortion if you put some resistance in series with each cathode.

It makes something more than 3 W RMS per channel.

With my speakers (86 dB nominal efficiency) in my listening room (25 square meters) this is equivalent to 65 dB SPL average and up to 85 dB SPL peak before some audible distortion.

The NFB (that is, the gain loss w.r.t. no NFB) is 3.5 dB.
