Second, 'what exactly needs to happen with NFB to reduce it'?

And no, I am not yankin' yer chain. I see no reason to doubt the many, thorough analysis I see written elsewhere on the 'net showing what can happen to a pentode( or MOSFET)plate curves when FB is applied turning them into what looks like impossible triodes( linear, and not showing the increase in plate resistance at higher voltage that causes the curves to 'tilt' to the right).
