RE: Where is IMD?

I'm going to try another sound card and get my measuring system dialed in.

I made some changes to the amp -

1- removed the UL taps from the plate load from the driver- this lowered IMD some

2- triode strapped - this doubled IMD and THD. I know get 1 watt at ~ 1 % THD and IMD is up around 4%.

3- I added an LC stage in the amplifier chassis.. This lowered the 60hz in my spectrum when looking at 1khz test tone/ THD measurements.

This has been fun to learn about. I'll order a set of EL34s for a test run also and see if that helps. (sounds like they'd be a better match to my outputs)

The amp sounds better triode strapped - to my ear... despite measuring worse...understanding the limits of my measuring gear! ( I realize its not accurate)
