Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

You have changed!!!

"As far as plate curves go-- a 7B4 is
more than linear enough operating at
a decently high plate voltage, and slightly
over 1ma. plate current."

When we talked on the phone several years ago you were running .5ma on the 7B4 and you said any more than that would ruin the amp.

I applaud you. Change is good especially when where you were sucked.
Increasing the idle current in the driver tube is a good move for you. It's a good start but you have more work to do.
