It's easier-- and harder-- than that.

Do your amps and speakers sound like the studio
recording, or the best local live venue or not?

Which is it?

Nearly all of us know how to make
measurements-- we do it everyday.

No, one need not get lost in Minutia-- you
can if you wish-- some spend their lives
designing surfboards on paper, some ride
them on the big waves, and then have to re-design them, or
build new. Why? Because actually riding it is necessary..
Especially against competition.

But to imply that those paper models and rules--
even for our audio needs-- completely relate to actual
results has been proven ridiculous over time, and
over getting beaten by the competition whenever we
get lost in minutia instead of actually using the result--
over time and over differing places and events.

I suggest strongly that you run your own
plate curves on the tubes AND BRANDS and BATCHES
you are going to run, and then try differing operating
parameters until you hear THE REAL MUSIC.

Then, AFTER that is done, measure everything
you know, and then decide where the real operating
points and methods REALLY are-- for yourself.
