RE: Thoughts on Input resistor?

Yes, the relatively broad area in a DH tube where grid current starts to get underway is a decent reason to use a grid choke.

The use of large resistors for contact bias, IMO proves that a wee bit of grid current flows in even liddle, low current applications. Getting it out of the way is a good thing.

Either way, I don't find it troublesome on IDH power tubes, and I don't think I am hallucinating in thinking they sound better than a resistor.
