To be 100% honest Triode I have a great ear, but absolutely no repair/mod skills. Heck, when my Mastersound Reference 845 SET amp's left channel went kaput, I searched for months to find someone who could repair it --{ afterall 135lbs amp unboxed would be very difficult to pack correctly and very expensive to ship }-- thank God another AA member over in the SET forum lead John S. aka deafbykhorns to me.John is an incredible man who lives about 2.5 hrs away from me here in the Orlando Florida area and when he was done with the repairs and minor mod he did, he gave me back an amp that sounded better than when I bought it new 20+ years ago! With all your concern here I would have thought the fellows who made this change of tubes would have had a problem by now. One fellow did this back in April 2021 and another did it earlier than that. I provided a link down below and look for posts # 748 & 749 to see pictures of the DAC with the tubes installed.
If you want to read more about how or why it was done you'll have to scan through the forum for that info because I sat down and read all 50+ pages at once a couple of weeks ago, so I no longer remember where that specific info is. If there was some sort of electrical issue I would think a problem would have surfaced by now, some 3 months later, or am I mistaken for thinking that? After all like I said above I know absolutely nothing repairs/mods of audio gear...
