I don't care for that style either. In fact, I've always thought it odd that the old metal-saddle Amphenol sockets made like that are in such high demand. I have a good number of those sockets, but I've always been hesitant to use them. Luckily, I have enough Alcon and Cinch with wrap-around pins to last probably the rest of my life.
