I've mostly ignored 7-pin tubes for projects. Most of the smaller types haven't been made in years, and they don't offer the convenience of their dual-triode cousins. But now I have several amplifier projects on the horizon, and the use of tubes like the 6AT6, 6AV6, 6C4, etc. looks like a good way to build independent mono amps with a common power supply on one chassis.
Before I get too involved in this, I'm wondering if others here have experience with the high-mu types like 6AV6. How is this tube regarding microphonics? What about filament-cathode leakage (hum)? It looks good on paper, but is there anything that renders this tube less desirable than a 12AX7 for hi-fi?
