Mike, as George (Tubelab) noted, it goes the other way up. Compactron socket goes on opposite side from silkscreen. Other components can go on either side.

I THINK the 6U10 will work in this as well... essentially 1/2 12AT7 and a 12AU7 for long-tail pair - but I need to check which triode is which. But I have a dozen NOS 12AC10s too... so I'm covered either way.

Steve O. - Pete had fifty of this PCB which had some mistakes or missing features (bought wrong revision). When he gets the new rev and documents it he'll put it on his site.
