RE: The silver/oil was a mixed bag for me..........

I coud not agree more! I find the Mundorf SIO to be tilted towards the high end, lacking in texture in the low frequency with a way back soundstage resulting in a un-natural and un-involving musical sound. i recently replaced the SIO output coupling caps in my amps with russian ky40-9 by-passed with .01 ufd, teflon and it sounded god awful at the beginning but after about 1 or 2 weeks wow great sound. I am glad I did not give in to my initial response to take them out, It's hard to believe the sound could change so drastic and it seem to happen all of a sudden one night there I was listening and saying wow WTF happened.
