Think about other posts on this.... mine as well.NO SINGLE CAP can do it all-- that doesn't exist.
When a cap is as balanced as it can be-- then, it's not going to accentuate bass-- or anything else. That would be a GOOD cap!.
Also realize, that when more and better "highs" are reproduced, the human hearing mechanism and mind AVERAGES and INTERPOLATES this information.
If more "highs" are reproduced, then the mind will think that there is less bass AS A PERCENTAGE of the total picture, bass is now at a lower percentage, but the AMOUNT of bass could possibly be even more than the cap that accentuated the bass had delivered.. Is this bad? NO! It simply reproduces more of the total musical picture better-- if that is what's occurring, then it's a better cap overall..
NOTE that all parts, including capacitors, sound very different after break-in. TOTAL break-in starts occurring-- with most parts-- at about 600 hours of use. Before that time, parts keep changing and you cannot base any sonic judgments on them.
A word about break-in. It can't be rushed. You can't just leave equipment on and let it play. Proper break-in is normal use..... and nothing else.
On and off cycles greatly aid break-in. Should one do this deliberately? No, that won't work either.
What does work is NORMAL USE. Simply play music when you want, turn-off equipment when you're not listening to it. Just act normal!
This method is the only break-in that works musically.
Don't forget solder joints! I hope you used WonderSolder-- there are a few others that also work well. They all require break-in time.
Want GOOD solder joints? (this is not for Solid-State!)-- then, for tube circuitry, DO NOT use soldering irons or stations. Use instead, the Weller D650 Soldering Gun. Use only the silvery-coated tips that come with it-- NOT bare copper.
The Weller D650 can be had at any Grainger store. Proper use of the trigger will give you fabulous control over how the solder joint flows and bonds.
