Re: why poeple alway talking about dynaco ST-70 ?

Several reasons, It's kind of like the small block Chevy of amplifiers. Love it or hate it, it's a bench mark amplifier. They made about 500,000 of them so there's lots of them out there. The transformers are good (for a $79.99 kit) the circuit is about as simple as it gets and it just 3 tubes per side plus 1 rectifier. It was sold in kit form and assembled and was supplied with schematic,assembly instructions and parts list all of which makes it a prime target for "Mr Modifier" and being so popular and barebones some after market companies as well. You can get just about anything for it still today. It's been the platform for redesigns for several companies, ARC and AVA just to mention a couple. Everyone should own one at least once if for no other reason then it being an educational tool and IT SOUNDS GOOD.
